The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has taken an important step to enhance its traditional mail and parcel delivery services. They recently acquired 22 new mail delivery trucks, which has strengthened their mail transport system through this revitalized fleet upgrade.

The new investment includes 18 six-wheeler trucks and 4 ten-wheeler trucks, significantly upgrading PHLPost’s existing vehicle fleet. Postmaster General Luis Carlos expressed optimism about how these new vehicles will boost the postal service’s capabilities in a couple key ways:

  • Better serve the public: The new vehicles will allow PHLPost to improve the delivery services it provides to the general public.
  • Attract more institutional mailers: The enhanced delivery capabilities will make PHLPost a more attractive option for larger, institutional customers to use their delivery and logistics services.

About PHLPost

The Philippine postal system, known as PHLPost, has a long history dating back over 250 years. Even in today’s digital age, PHLPost remains the go-to delivery service for many Filipinos, especially those living in rural areas.

PHLPost provides a reliable and accessible way for people across the Philippines to send and receive mail, packages, and important documents. It continues to be the preferred option for those who need to move items around the country, particularly in areas that may lack alternative delivery services.

Despite the rise of digital communication, PHLPost has maintained its importance and relevance for Filipinos who still rely on its physical mail and parcel services. The postal system’s extensive reach and long history have made it a top choice in communities nationwide, and with its recent initiatives makes it one of the most improving logistics service providers in the Philippines.

Recent PHLPost Initiatives

Agricultural Projects

PHLPost is also working with the Department of Agriculture to address the logistics needs of farmers. This will allow them to transport goods at more affordable rates, helping connect rural communities to major cities.

As part of this expansion, PHLPost is setting up “Kadiwa pop-up stores” in some post offices. With these stores, more affordable agricultural products will be directly available to consumers, supporting the government’s goal of accessible food for all Filipinos.

In support of PHLPost’s aim to enter the growing e-commerce logistics market by 2025, using the new delivery trucks to expand this part of their business is one of its steps.

This initiative is part of PHLPost’s “Postal Trinity” program, which includes establishing more local delivery stations, updating the national address system, and modernizing mail operations for greater efficiency.

Wider Reach for Parcel Delivery

The strategic expansion of PHLPost’s logistics fleet is a significant step towards enhancing its operational efficiency. By covering more ground and reducing delivery times, PHLPost aims to strengthen its position in the logistics market, particularly in last-mile parcel delivery services. This move is crucial in an era where e-commerce is booming, and the demand for efficient parcel delivery services is at an all-time high.
